Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic
If your pet is at least 6 months, we can safely spay or neuter them for you. Your Marion-Grant County Humane Society provides the county's only low-cost spay/neuter clinic. This is a non-profit organization of volunteers and staff working together to end cat/dog overpopulation and unwanted stray animals. We offer an affordable spay/neuter service for cats and dogs. Our clinic is open by appointment only, and only during a running clinic.
Upcoming Clinics
Clinics fill up fast, so get in while you can. We typically hold clinics once a month, depending on need. We encourage you to sign up for our eNewsletter so that you can be informed the moment an upcoming Clinic date and time is set.
How Much Does It Cost?
Our costs are a fraction of the cost of altering pet at your local vet. You must pay for the alteration in advance at the time the appointment is set, not pick up. This is to ensure we have an absolute amount of patients our Vet can prepare for. No exceptions.
Cat Spay/Neuter: $50
Dog Spay/Neuter: $80 (not altering female dogs at this time)
All rates include alteration, pain medicince, nails, ears, and teeth. Shots are available at an additonal cost.
How Old Should My Animal Be?
Kittens and puppiess can be spayed or neutered at the age of 2 months (or 2 pounds). The American Veterinary Medical Association has endorsed this practice called Early Age Neutering. The animals recover more quickly from the surgery.
How Can You Offer Such A Discounted Rate?
We want to end the terrible pet-overpopulation problem, so we are doing whatever we possibly can to reduce costs to encourage responsible pet-owners to take action by altering their pets. We rely 100% on donations from the public. If you're interested in donating to this cause, please do so! You do not have to register for anything to donate!
I Still Can't Afford It...
We have a few programs in place to assist pet-owners who are feeling the pressures of the times. If you would like to be considered for our assistance program, please submit an assistance form.
